ESD Biomass is a joint venture between ESD Ltd and Balmyle Ltd. Our aim is to develop projects that improve the sustainability of energy supplies, and provide viable options for the development of low carbon energy from biomass sources.

The major energy markets, heating, transport and electricity all require low carbon products if we are to meet UK climate change commitments. The development of new, sustainable biomass sources, together with present stocks and recyclable biomass streams, is an important challenge over the next few years.

Fossil fuels will by then pay the full cost of their use and biomass energy will be competitive. In the meantime, biomass energy prices require development support from government energy agencies, and carbon funds, to deliver commercial projects.
